Transportation

Waynesville is about 30 minutes west of Asheville, NC.

There are a few options to getting to the area: Driving, flying and Greyhound bus.

Unfortunately, you will probably need a car if you want to take part in "extracurricular activities."

If you need someone to pick you up from the airport, let us know. We'll try to work it out and it is not a problem. It might be best to contact us before purchasing your plane tickets, however, for advice on the most convenient arrival airport to choose. (Asheville airport is easiest for us.)

Area Airports

Asheville, NC (AVL) - This is a small airport that Continental, Delta, Northwest, and US Airways service. Asheville is about 30-minute drive from Waynesville.

Knoxville, TN (TYS) - TYS services most of the big airlines but not Southwest. Melissa and Elliott say that it is about a 90-minute drive from there to Waynesville.

Charlotte, NC (CLT) - Charlotte services even more of the major airlines but still not Southwest. Google maps states the drive from Charlotte to Waynesville takes about 2 hours and 40 minutes although a different route might be faster.

Greensboro, NC (GSO) - The Greensboro airport is about 3 hours and 15 minutes away and it services most of the big airlines.

Raleigh-Durham, NC (RDU) - Raleigh's airport is about a 4 1/2-hour drive but services all airlines including Southwest.
