Welcome to Brighton Owen's Domain

Hello, my name is Brighton Owen and I currently attend North Carolina State University. My intended major is currently in Biomedical Engineering. I chose Biomedical engineering because I had always thought it would be fun to go into medicint like my father. However, I have always loved building things and understanding how things worked, so when I first heard about Biomedical Engineering I decided it was perfect for me. In addition I have always wanted to help people, and over the past year or so I have been dedicating some of my time to designing a fully functioning prosthetic arm. In addition to looking into prosthetics, I have also been very interested in building and perfecting the Da Vinci surgical machines so that they could be affordable and easy enough to use in less developed countries.

When I am not designing prosthetics I enjoy several different activities including 'Wakeboarding.' Wakeboardinging is one of those activities that is just liberating. Feeling the space all around you as you are flying through the air, crossing the wake of a boat, is truly a magnificent experience. Wakeboarding is an escape where I can feel free to be myself, free of the harsh realities of daily life, combining all of my favorite activities and academic interests. I love learning and I love showing what I have learned, I feel that I do this the best when I wakeboard. I can apply the basic laws of physics to wakeboarding and can calculate my typical trajectory and change it by applying different momentums as I fly up the wake. I can graph these parabolic functions of flight with software like logger-pro, trying to determine how I can fly higher or farther. Through wakeboarding, I have been able to grapple with topics that have confounded me in academics. So I have found only a sport but also a situational tutor. Overall, wakeboarding is one of my favorite hobbies and is helpful to me in more than just a cathartic way.

  1. First, preheat your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit
  2. Then gather or double check that you have all of your ingredients including Pepperoni, Basil, Cheddar Cheese, Ricotta, pepper-jack cheese, wheat pizza dough, and tomato sauce
  3. Now gently spin the pizza dough in the air so that the dough naturally evens itself out, and then curl over the outer edges of the dough so that it is at a desired thickness
  4. Now cover the pizza dough with the tomato sauce to create a thick and even layer of sauce and then cover it in cheese in a similar fashion.
  5. Put the rest of the ingredients on top of the pizza and insert it into the preheated oven.
  6. After approximately 20 minutes check to see how well cooked the pizza is, if the crust is a nice golden brown remove it, if not let it cook until it is a nice golden brown color.
  7. After you remove the pizza from the oven, cut it into slices and enjoy
