Welcome to my home page!

My name is Christian Byrnes, class of 2019. Currently, I'm enrolled at NSCU as a Graphic Design major, though I aim to dual major in both Graphic Design and Computer Science. I chose to go for both majors due to my career aspirations- I hope to pursue a career in video game design post-graduation. Part of the reason I wish to enter the industry is because of my love of interactive storytelling- a fun mix between right-brained creativity and left-brained logistics. But I also believe that video games are a great investment that will only become more relevant as the modern world turns more and more towards technology as a means of expressing creativity.

While it's obvious from the previous paragraph that I enjoy playing video games (I mean, if I didn't why would I want to spend my future life making them?), there are a number of other hobbies I enjoy just as much. In particular, I consider myself a fairly decent artist, particularly in the realm of digital art. I spend lots of my free time practicing my skills, which are 90% self-taught. I've taught myself programs like Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, and have even created small animated pieces every now and then. One of the things I really like about creating art digitally is that I can create my own art, and then use that art when I'm programming games.
