Welcome Friends! :)

My name is Caitlin Rogers. I am a freshman here at NC State. My intended major is Biomedical Engineering with a minor in Spanish. I chose to pursue these two fields because my favorite classes have always been science, math, and Spanish. Biomedical Engineering allows me to apply my passions in the service of others. One of my career goals is to travel to a developing Latin American country and share newly designed medical technology with their hospitals. This would allow me to share my knowledge of Spanish and medical assistance to those in need.

One of my favorite hobbies is learning about the Spanish language and culture. While I do homework or am just relaxing, I like listening to music by various Spanish artists especially Reik. I also love traveling even though I have only had the opportunity to go outside of the country once, when I traveled to Spain for a week on a scholarship through the National Spanish Exam. I am researching studying abroad in Spain this summer where I will be able to live with a host family and truly experience the language and culture for an extended period of time. Ultimately, I want to become fluent so I can continue working with low income Hispanic families in the community or travel to Latin America to assist their hospitals.
