Live to Never Be Forgotten

Hi, my name is Kathryn Robinson. Thanks to transfer credits, I am a sophomore majoring in textile engineering. I first discovered textile engineering in my freshman year of high school. I knew I wanted to do engineering of some sort but I had no clue what concentration, so my mom had the idea to sign me up for a bunch of engineering camps and see what I liked best. The only one I ended up attending was NCSU College of Textiles' Polymer Day Camp and luckily I absolutely loved it. From that point on I was determined to major in textile engineering at NC State.

My favorite hobby is sewing. My grandma taught me how to sew when I was just seven years old, and my first big project was six canvas bags for my mom's birthday. I love to spend hours with fabric under my fingers, pins at the ready, and a pedal underneath my foot. I make costumes nearly exclusively and I love diving into a brand new pattern and figuring out how each garment is constructed. Sewing is very special to me and I hope to continue throughout my life.

Cats vs dogs has always been a no brainer for me. I was absolutely terrified of dogs for thirteen years and therefore cats will always win out in my heart. I've gotten over my fear of dogs but I'm still extremely uneasy around medium to large dogs. Cats, on the other hand, are one of my favorite animals along with hedgehogs and owls. I love how cuddly they can be and they are perfect for relaxing and reading with. The calm nature of cats has always suited me well and they will always have a special bond with me.
