Welcome to my webpage!

My name is Margaret (Maggie) Flanders. I am a freshman at NC State University. I am majoring in Biomedical Engineering. I chose BME as I plan on going to medical school and eventually achieving my dream of becoming a doctor or a surgeon. The field of biomedical engineering combines both the technical knowledge and medical applications that I am looking for.

I am currently a cashier at The Home Depot, but only work there during school vacations. During the school year, I work as an intern at the Thurston Arthritis Research Center at UNC Chapel Hill School of Medicine. Working with Dr. Diekman, we are investigating genome editing and tissue engineering for the study of cartilage aging and osteoarthritis. My dream job is to be a successful doctor or surgeon, improving people's lives.
