Welcome to the Mind of Bazhaw!

Hello! I am Randy Bazhaw, a freshman at North Carolina State University. I am in the Engineering First Year program with a Civil Engineering intent. I found this major through my Eagle Scout Project, which was designing, engineering, and constructing a 35 foot bridge on the Deep River Nature Trail in Randleman, North Carolina. By working under a professional engineer, I knew I found my true passion in designing structures. I aspire to design the next wave of structures that incorporate new sustainable materials, while integrating alternative energies to optimize energy and cost savings.

Aside from engineering, I have another passion in music. I love any instrument that falls under the category of percussion. The place I am the most relaxed and feel the most natural is behind a drum with a pair of sticks in my hands. The systematic stucture and rhythms behind percussion music "click" for me and my mind as I think and work out my problems through patterns, which compose the majority of all percussion music. I think it is safe to say that playing drums is one of my favorite hobbies.
