Welcome NCSU Freshman!

My name is Rebecca Smith and I am a Freshman in Textile Engineering. I chose Textile Engineering because I have always been interested in science and math and thought engineering would be a good fit. I chose textile engineering specifically because I found it interesting how many applications it has, especially in the medical field. With a textile engineering degree I hope to go into research for regenerative medicine and artificial organ transplants. I find regenerative medicine very interesting because it is a great way to help others.

One of my favorite hobbies is to listen to music. For as long as I can remember music has been a large part of my life. I was actively envolved in band for over seven years and it was a very large part of my life. I also spend a lot of my free time listening to music and discovering new bands. Music is a great way to relax and escape from reality.
