Welcome to IA 5 by R. Dubman.

My name is Robbie Dubman. I am a freshman in Electrical Engineering here at NCSU. I choose to study electronics because it is invisible and we have to use logic to piece together abstract theory before it can ever be applied. There is something pure about a subject like that. Also, electronics are ubiquitous and I like the idea of understanding how they work.

I had a job this spring as an electrical engineering intern. We used PLCs and VFDs to automate motion control [mostly cranes and textile assembly lines]. It was interesting to me how I learned almost as much about communication and working with people at that job as I did about technical subjects.
