Greetings and welcome to my site

My name is Sarah Thomson. I am a transfer student in the Electrical Engineering Department. I am technically a Junior by credit hours, but many of my transfer credits are not related to my major, so I am still in Sophomore level classes. I chose Electrical Engineering as my major because it is a subject that I am interested in and that is related to my current job. I have an A.A.S. degree in Electrical Systems Technology, so Electrical Engineering was the natural next step in furthering my education.

I am a laboratory technician at Underwriter's Laboratories and do Electromagnetic Compatibility and product performance testing. I primary work with elctrical smart meter certification testing, though I often work on many other types of products, ranging from lighting fixtures to household appliences to cutting edge medical devices. As I gain further education, I am hoping to be able to bring this knowledge to my current job and open myself up to further opportunities in my career down the line.
