About Me

My name is Tyler Hatch and I am a freshman in Aerospace Engineering. I was born and raised in Wilmington, North Carolina and enjoyed being close to the beach. I chose to pursue aerospace engineering because I have always been fascinated with astronomy and the space program. One day I would like to work for NASA by developing the next generation of space probes. In particular, I would like to work on Mars rovers with the possibility of sending humans to the red planet.

During my junior year of high school, my family took a trip to the Kennedy Space center in Cap Canavera, Florida. This was the trip that really sparked my interest in being an aerospace engineer. I was able to see one of the shuttles up close and many other rockets made by NASA. They even had a piece of lunar rock for us to touch! I ended up buying a lot of souvenirs and taking plenty of pictures. Overall, it was a great day and the highlight of my vacation that year.
