China's One-Child Policy, or The Planned Birth Policy was implemented to control China's increasing population. Enacted in the 1970's by ruler Deng Xiaoping, the policy is still very controversial today by human rights activists. Yet, the policy is still in focus, but has became more fair towards couples and not as strict overall. The policy continues to raise China's economy, preserve the land, and control the population problem.
