My University and Major

My current school is the University of North Carolina-Wilmington, however I plan on transferring to North Carolina State University in the Fall of 2017. I intend to graduate in 2019 at NC State. My intended major is Civil Engineering, with a concentration in Construction.

Why do I want to be an Engineer?

I chose this major for more personal reasons, honestly. When I was in middle school, I paid very close attention to how the Hope Mills Dam was never fixed. At that time, I made it my personal goal to fix the Hope Mills Dam when I grew older, and Civil Engineering is the way to go. Construction is very fascinating to me, learning the ins and outs of how roads and bridges work in the real world, not just on paper. With my degree, if I am offered the opportunity to fix the Hope Mills Dam, I will defidently take it on the spot. However, I intend to work for a company willing to let me work for them before I graduate, to get some experience with how the company and the other engineers that work for them. Experience is very important to me, and I would love to get my foot through the door before my graduation in 2019.
