Welcome to My Life

My name is Englyn Harris. I plan to graduate from NC State in 2020. I will be majoring in Biomedical Engineering.
I chose to pursue Biomedical Engineering because it sparks my interests with a great combination of the medical sciences
and engineering. The heavy load of physics and complex mathematics intrigues me as I am drawn towards creatively solving
complex problems. As a biomedical engineer, I plan to discover new ways of handling medical issues through mechanics. At
the heart of my career, I plan to do many forms of research that will globally advance our modern society.

My favorite hobby is playing basketball. I played basketball in high school for 3 years and I stopped my senior year
because I wanted to shift my focus more towards community involvement. I enjoy playing basketball with friends, not to be
taken seriously, and with a team, being more competitive. Basketball serves as my outlet from the demands of everyday life.
Even when I am not playing, I enjoy watching it, or even sitting along the sidelines, recording stats.During my senior year
of high school, I was a statistician for the Girls Varsity Basketball team at my school, so I would always be apart of my
school's basketball program.

I love dogs because they are loving animals and great companions. Dogs know when their owner is sad or happy.
My favorite type of dog is Shi Tzu. I absoluely do not like cats because they always seem sneaky and look suspicious.
Cats do not show any emotions and that bothers me because I am only used to dogs, which I can always tell if their excited
or upset.
