About Me

I am a current sophomore at North Carolina State University, and I am majoring in Biomedical Engineering, with a minor in Tissue Engineering. I plan to graduate in May of 2020 with my Bachelor's Degree, and continue on to graduate school in order to obtain my Master's Degree.

I chose Biomedical Engineering because I want to work in regenerative medicine, specializing in organ regeneration. My mother had a kidney transplant when I was only seven years old. and having to come to terms with her immunosuppression was difficult. Regenerated organs, grown from a person's own stem cells would and used for transplantation would eliminate the need for anti-rejection medication. Also, the ability to grow organs on command would end the organ shortage that kills 22 people each day. I am very passionate about working to end the organ shortage and want to go into research that will lead to its end.
