Welcome to John Inness's Website for E115

I am John Inness and I am a freshmen at NC State in the First Year Engineering program with an intent on majoring in Aerospace Engineering. I have known that I have wanted to do Aerospace Engineering ever since I was in elementary school. The reason for me choosing aerospace engineering is because I have had a passion for flight and space ever since my dad first got me a flight simulator. I didn't want to become a full time pilot because most commercial pilots today just plug in an auto pilot and they don't really pilot the aircraft. At the point I realized I wanted to design and test aircraft and spacecraft designs which made aerospace engineering a natural choice for me. I had been excelling in math and sciences at school and was always coming up with a creative solution for problems so aerospace engineering became a natural choice for me.

My favorite hobby would have to be my love of music. As I type this, I am actually sitting in a Raleigh Civic Symphony rehearsal where I am tacet on the piece that they are currently rehearsing. I play tuba, so for in a symphony sitting, I honestly don't play that much which is to be expected. A joke among tuba players is that we receive principal pay but we only have to show up half the time. I also plan to minor in tuba performance which I already have made the program. In addition to tuba, I also play piano which I play as part of the Raleigh Wesley Praise band. I personally take a more classical approach to piano which I don't play too much modern day music.
