My name is Jefferson Griffin, but I go by my initials which are JT Griffin.
I am currently a freshman at NC State majoring in Construction Engineering.
One of the main reasons that I chose this major was because I grew up working with my dad who is an electrician and was always around construction.
This was where my love and interest of how things are put together came from.
Another reason I chose engineering as a whole is due to the fact that once I graduate I will be a third generation engineer.
My dad's dad, my dad's brother, and my dad are all engineers.
There is a running joke in the family that Griffin men are prewired to be engineers.
I have two things that I love doing equally as hobbies.
The first thing is duck hunting.
I like duck hunting so much because I feel that it is a great way to connect with nature.
Also one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen in my life is the sun rise over the salt marsh in Wilmington, NC.
My other hobby that I love just as much is what we call "mudding" in Wilmington.
This is where you find either an open field or a dirt trail and wait for the rain.
You then tear down the trail and hit all the ruts left by other trucks and make some of your own.
I like this so much because it shows off all the work I do on my own vehicle.
Also it gives a true feeling of freedom as well as a challenge.
It is just you and your vehicle against the mud, who will win?
