Education

I am currently working towards a bachelors in Material Science Engineering with a biomaterials concentration and a minor in Tissue Engineering at North Carolina State University. My anticipated graduation date is May 2020.

Material Science Engineering

I chose material science engineering after touring NAVAIR this summer with a group of women in engineering. I fell in love with NAVAIR's material science lab. They showed us what they were working on with failure analysis and composite materials and I found it all so fascinating. I originally thought I wanted to do biomedical engineering, but with the material science biomaterials concentration, I could do similar work to what I wanted originally and open my options to include more skills outside of the medical field. My goal is to design or clone synthetic organs. I would also enjoy doing failure analysis or working on creating new materials.
