-Worked in B&W PWR Nuclear Design group.
-Performed scoping and core design using SIMULATE and Duke Energy NextScope.
-Presented work on feasibility of using Crystal River fuel in Oconee nuclear plant.

Feb 2012 - May 2013 Consortium for Advanced Simulation of Light Water Reactors (CASL) Scholars Program - Student Researcher
-Worked alongside other researchers towards the goal of computer modeling a light water nuclear reactor.
-Designed and wrote Monte Carlo code to solve transport solution and calculate functionals used in hybrid transport solutions.

May 2012 - July 2012 Nuclear Engineering Science Laboratory Synthesis (NESLS) at Oak Ridge National Laboratory - Student Researcher
-Working under the direction of Dr. Bradley Rearden in the CASL Modeling & Simulation Hub, tested XSProc code using SCALE 6.1 and SCALE 6.2.
-Designed and ran tests for various modules within SCALE
-Prepared and presented a poster summarizing the results of the summer.s testing which won an award.

May 2011 - August 2011 Nuclear Engineering Intern at Newport News Shipbuilding
-Worked in Reactor Services Dept. in Fuel Removal and Installation Group
-Wrote/Revised the Maintenance Instruction Document for aircraft carrier reactor refueling equipment
-Wrote/Revised Maintenance Procedures for Translating Gate Refueling Machine
-Actively sought out jobs and areas where I could contribute to assist others in the group. Noted to be diligent and efficient.

-Performed residential framing, electrical, mechanical and interior finish work including hardwood flooring, ceramic tile installation, finish carpentry, as well as construction and installation of cabinetry. Operated sawmill, Kubota tractor, chainsaw and other machinery. Constructed barns. Managed livestock.
