About Me

My name is Nicholas Pischak, and I'm a student at North Carolina State University. I am currently in my freshman year of college, and am seeking a degree in Computer Science. I'm interested in Computer Science because I've been working with computers for a while now, in different capacities. When I was younger, I only learned about the hardware side of computers, like what a hard drive is and what the CPU of a computer does. As I grew up, I started getting more into the software portion of the computers, and learned a bit of basic C++. Now that I'm in college, I've found my interest for software growing even more, and with the relative ease I've had with the programming sections in E 115, I think that it will be the right path to go.

My favorite break from school would have to be the most recent fall break, where I went to New York City with the University Scholars Program. The trip took us all over New York City, from the top of the Rockefeller Center to the subway system running beneath the city. Not only did we see the sights of New York City from the buildings, we were also able to visit museums such as the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Museum of Modern Art. During the nights we stayed, we also got to see three different broadway plays, all of them musicals and comedies in one form or another. My favorite part had to be the Metropolitan Museum of Art, since it had all the art pieces I've been studying for the past six years on one floor (mainly Greek and Roman sculpture and artifacts, as well as some suits of armor from the middle ages).
