Projects

Jun 2012 - May 2013

Aero Design Team, Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Technology

  • Captained first Aero Design team from college at SAE Aero Design 2013 West, Van Nuys, CA
  • Designed airframe to lift 15lb. payload, propelled by 0.46cu.in glow engine
  • Developed system to air-drop 3lb. cargo onto target from a height ≥100ft.
  • Identified and assembled components for data acquisition system for real-time telemetry and video
  • Designed, developed and maintained team website, blog and social media

Aug 2014 - Dec 2014

Dynamics of a Balloon-tethered Airborne Wind Turbine

  • Explored dynamics of a wind turbine held aloft by a balloon and tethered to the ground
  • Final course-project for MAE511, Advanced Dynamics of Aerospace Systems

Jun 2012 - May 2013

A Model for Self-Propulsion of Leidenfrost Droplets

  • Studied the phenomenon of self-propulsion of liquid droplets suspended on a vapor cushion on a hot, grooved surface
  • Developed a model for the propulsive force felt by the droplets
  • Final course-project for MAE708, Advanced Convective Heat Transfer

Work Experience

Jan 2014 - present

Graduate Research Assistant

North Carolina State University

Participated in NASA funded project for development of low-order methods for post-stall flight. Studies of CFD results over swept wings showed the motion of the stalled, separated boundary layer tipwards. I developed modifications to an existing Decambering-Augmented-VLM to account for sweep effects in near- and post-stall. This work is still in progress, more details in the paper we published.

Jul 2012 - Dec 2013

Application Developer

RaceAdvisor.co.uk

I wrote a combination of desktop applications and webservices to dynamically generate and execute queries on a massive database of horse-racing data. Applications also included visualization of queried data for use in optimization betting algorithms. Also performed end-user support and debugging and modifications based on user feedback

Jul 2011 - Aug 2013

Application Developer

PageOneTraffic Ltd.

I developed multiple desktop applications using Adobe AIR to implement SEO-focussed algorithms. I also supported the applications through the entire lifecycle

Jul 2011 - Aug 2013

Freelance Programmer

vWorker.com | freelancer.com

Participated in various projects, ranging from implementing a sun and moon calculator to generating machine-translations of large quantities of text to designing logos and web-pages.

Jul 2009 - Sep 2010

Web Application Developer

Vacation Rental Partner LLC

I was the sole developer on this project, in charge of coding the front-end in Adobe Flex and later HTML+CSS+JS and back-end in Adobe ColdFusion
