My Majors and Education

I am currently a freshman at North Carolina State University. I am in a dual major program, called the Benjamin Franklin Scholars Program, which is a dual degree program between the College of Engineering and the College of Humanities and Social Sciences. My intended majors are Biomedical Engineering and Arts Studies with a concentration in Visual Arts. I plan to graduate in May 2020.

The Meaning Behind my Majors

I chose Biomedical Engineering because I feel that injuries should never be permanent. There is so much people can do with technology, yet everyday, people are still told that they will never walk again. People have come so far in medicine and medical technology, and I want to be a part of the future development. I mainly want to develop prosthetics. I chose my second major, Arts Studies, because the visual arts are an important aspect of my thought process. I look at a problem from the viewpoint of both an engineer and an artist, and continuing to develop this other aspect of myself can improve my critical thinking and design skills.
