Welcome to ANS 404!

ANS 404 is an introduction to the principles of modern dairy cattle management. It focuses on the nutritional requirements of the dairy cow, practical applications to balancing rations, feeding systems and management tools for effective feeding strategies, digestive physiology and reproductive aspects of dairy cattle. Students will also learn the need for efficient record keeping and the role of Dairy Records Management Systems (DRMS).

Each student will be assigned a hand-held computer to use for time management and project development during the semester. Students will be responsible for returning the hand-helds assigned to them at the end of the semester.
